Hopefully some of the still life projects will move beyond trinkets on the white sweep. Here are a few more interesting examples I found in about five minutes of research. Check them out!

Flash Stuff
This is the kit that we used in class. Under $100 for all...
Read reviews and make an informed decision, but this is a good place to start building your lighting collection.
In my experience using this stuff, I find the flash a little cool and it uses batteries faster than my Nikon flash. I use rechargeable AA batteries and always carry spares.

Final Portfolio
My goal for this class has always been to have you finish with a lot of lighting experience and a portfolio with a wide range of work.
Antony and I have come up with the requirements for that portfolio.
10 people
10 still life
10 self-directed
"people" will be a mix of lifestyle and portrait. The mix must 5/5, 6/4, 7/3/ Not 9 portrait and 1 lifestyle.
"still life" should be a mix of subjects, backgrounds, surfaces etc.
The self-directed must be approved by me. Please send me a written proposal. email is OK.
Amazingly we have less than a month! Our semester for Friday classes ends the day before Thanksgiving. November 27th!
I would like to see new work each class. We'll begin (at 9:30) with a show of new work and I will decide if any are worthy of being used for your final portfolio. Now some of you have very good shots from the mid-term, but may need to make better prints.
I would also encourage you to submit extra pictures digitally. You can continue to add to the folder that you created on my desktop.
Prints must be no smaller than 11x14.
Web images should be high res jpgs.
Can't wait to see the amazing work you make!
